Feather farms



Back in the 70s in Canossian Convent Primary School in Segamat, Johor, my friends and I used to keep feathers between the pages of books and feed them pencil shavings. I always thought we were the only crazy ones doing this until I read about it in Shih-Li Kow’s novel The Sum of Our Follies.

Now, looking it up on Google I see a couple of blog posts about the ‘hobby’. I believe the bloggers are from Singapore and Malaysia. I wonder if the madness was confined to these two countries ….
